Red Rock Canyon

The Park is using a shuttle service to go to Red rock Canyon, because they are restructuring the parking lot and if you drive there, you can't find a place to turn around.  So, we hopped on the shuttle and took the 10 mile drive to a beautiful valley.  There are two short hikes here, but the one to the waterfalls was being occupied by a black bear, and the people who saw it said it wasn't moving off the trail, so we decided to avoid that area.

We hiked instead up this canyon.  The red and green bedrock, called argillite, has been caused by erosion. That, coupled with the lush vegetation, makes this a fantastic place to hike and take pictures.

And, we saw a deer.  We didn't see the bear, or, it was rumored, a sow with her cub, but that was OK with us!
