After we left the Lake Louise area, we went into the town of Banff. On the outskirts of town are several beautiful campgrounds, and we chose one called Two Jack Lake. It is named after John "Captain Jack" Standley who owned a laucn called Daughter of the Peaks from 1900-1910 at Lake Minniewanka nearby, and John "Jack" Waters, who was the head of the Bankhead Coal Mine near here.
So, we took a circular drive around the area and encountered our first mountain goats. I loved that one of them was foraging in the tree - just like you see in classic pictures! What a treat!
