Searching for Salmon

Searching for Salmon

That last morning in Skagway was pretty eventful.  As we were crossing the Skagway River, I spotted a black bear under the bridge.  We parked on the other side and walked back.

He looked to be about three or four years old, and he seemed kind of puzzled, like his instincts had gotten him out in the middle of the river, and now he didn’t know what to do.

He sat out there for quite some time.  He probably would know how to act if a salmon came along, but none did.

Eventually, he decided to leave, but seemed unsure of his footing, or how to get out of there.

He finally made a leap for it, and then disappeared into the brush.
