A leisurely morning. We leave around noontime for the town and head to the library where they have free Internet service. There is a white lilac outside that is gorgeous! The wind is blowing and it is so fragrant! John goes to take care of the camper while I get on line and answer emails, complete blog sections, and read the New York Times from last Sunday. John gets his chance at the computer, and I have a nice conversation with the librarian, who fills me in on some local books that she recommends. Then, back to our campsite for a bike ride, and dinner of hamburgers on the grill and a salad with black beans, cilantro, green onions, and tomatoes. And I tell John what I have read in the New York Times.
The camp hostess Judy comes along and we have a long talk, me in the screen room and she on the outside swatting mosquitoes. I invite her in, but she has to go. I feel like the Wizard of Oz, peering out from behind the screen. It’s taking some getting used to, but we appreciate the fact that we are looking at yellow jackets, mosquitoes and assorted other critters trying to get in. We have had a pleasant evening with no bugs bothering us. Judy mentions an area of water in the low area beside our campsite that wasn’t there before. That is because the water table is rising. We can see a noticeable difference between today and the day we arrived in terms of snow levels in the mountains. It is melting fast!
We are breaking down our outside area tonight. Although we have a noon time ferry tomorrow, the fine silty dirt is so permeating that John wants to get it done tonight and clean up rather than deal with it in the morning.
I am really enjoying your blog. Have fun.
