The View at Homer

Homer and Homer Spit

We came to an overlook for Homer and saw the Spit, which extends out into the Inlet, and  is an important fishing area for commercial and charter boats.  It extends out with a view of the  mountains that are the beginning of the Aleutian Chain,  They are beautiful and covered with snow.

We were told about another lookout point which proved to be even more panoramic.

There is  very low tide here, and people were out with their children late into the evening (10:30), swinging their child by the arms and walking the dog.
All around the area are hanging glaciers, beautiful and pristine and changing with the light.
